Save on Eligible Healthcare & Dependent Care Expenses
Flexible Spending Accounts allow you to set aside money from your paycheck on a pre-tax basis to pay eligible healthcare or dependent care expenses. Because contributions are generally deducted before taxes, participating in an FSA can help reduce your taxable income.
Your FSA election does not automatically carry over to the next plan year. If you want to contribute to an FSA for 2027, you must make a new election during enrollment.
BrightSpring offers three types of FSAs:
- Health Care FSA
- Limited Purpose Health Care FSA
- Dependent Care FSA
Contribution Limits
Choose the FSA that fits your needs and save with pre-tax dollars. For 2027, you can contribute up to $3,400 to a Health Care or Limited-Purpose FSA and up to $7,500 to a Dependent Care FSA.
FSA rules concerning eligibility, reimbursement, carryover, forfeiture, and deadlines are governed by the applicable plan documents. Review the official plan information carefully.

Health Care FSA
Use a Health Care FSA to pay eligible healthcare expenses for you and your eligible dependents.
- Medical plan deductibles
- Copays and coinsurance
- Eligible dental expenses
- Eligible vision expenses
Your Full Annual Election Is Available Up Front
With a Health Care FSA, your full annual election is generally available for eligible healthcare expenses during the plan year, even before the full amount has been deducted from your paychecks.

Limited Purpose Health Care FSA
Pair Your FSA With an HSA
If you are eligible to contribute to an HSA, your Health Care FSA is generally limited to eligible dental and vision expenses.
The Limited Purpose Health Care FSA can be used for eligible expenses such as:
- Dental deductibles, copays, and coinsurance
- Vision copays
- Eligible glasses and contact lens expenses
- Other eligible dental and vision expenses
Important: HSA eligibility is subject to IRS requirements. Other health coverage, including certain FSA coverage, can affect your eligibility to contribute to an HSA.

Dependent Care FSA
Save on Eligible Dependent Care Expenses
A Dependent Care FSA can help you pay eligible dependent care expenses that allow you, and your spouse if applicable, to work or meet other applicable eligibility requirements. Eligible expenses may include:
- Day care
- Nursery school
- Eligible before- and after-school care
- Babysitting while you work
- Eligible adult dependent care
- Eligible elder care
Unlike the Health Care FSA, Dependent Care FSA reimbursements are limited to the amount currently available in your account. If an eligible claim exceeds your available balance, additional reimbursement may occur as contributions are added to the account.
You will need applicable information for your dependent care provider, including the provider’s Social Security number or Tax Identification Number, when required for reimbursement/tax reporting.
Keep Your Receipts: FSA Claims Must Be Substantiated
FSA expenses must be substantiated as required by the plan. Even when you use your FSA payment card, you may be asked to provide documentation, such as an itemized receipt or Explanation of Benefits (EOB), showing that the expense was eligible.
If Fidelity requests documentation, submit it promptly and keep your receipts. Failure to substantiate an expense may result in additional action under the plan, including the amount potentially being treated as taxable income when required.
Important: Using your FSA card does not automatically mean an expense has been substantiated or determined to be eligible.
